Local knowledge, practical advice and personal service…from a family business that cares about its work.
Surfside Plumbing & Drainage is a family-owned business based in Burleigh Waters. Led by Rob, a licensed plumber and gas fitter with over 17 years of experience, we help customers with everyday repairs, plumbing problems and renovation projects.
We service the Gold Coast, South Brisbane, Tweed and Northern NSW, with licensing in both Queensland and New South Wales.
Meet Rob
When you contact Surfside, you speak directly with Rob, the person who will be carrying out your plumbing work.
With a background in residential plumbing, maintenance and gas fitting, Rob brings experience and attention to detail to everything from a leaking tap to the plumbing for a complete bathroom renovation.
He enjoys understanding how things work, finding practical solutions and seeing a job come together properly. Creating a beautiful, functional bathroom is a particular favourite.
Just as importantly, he takes the time to listen, explain the options and help you understand the work involved.
A family business, on and off the tools
SurfSide Plumbing & Drainage is run by Rob and his wife, Lauren. Rob handles the plumbing and gas fitting, while Lauren works behind the scenes looking after accounts and administration, while maintaining her own full time job as well.
With three daughters, family life keeps us busy outside work too. Running our own business is something we’re proud of, and we appreciate every customer who chooses to support it.
When he’s off the tools, Rob enjoys a round of golf and spending time with his family.
We bring that personal approach to our work: friendly communication, care for your home and pride in a job done well.
Practical advice and clear communication
Plumbing problems aren’t always straightforward, and the right solution depends on the property, the condition of the installation and what you want to achieve.
We explain what we find, discuss suitable options and outline the proposed costs before proceeding. Where further investigation is needed, we’ll explain why rather than leave you guessing.
For renovations, we take the time to understand your ideas and budget, considering functionality, practicality and appearance together.

Gold Coast Plumbing Inspections
Gold Coast Plumbing Inspections is the pre-purchase inspection division of SurfSide Plumbing & Drainage.
Through this side of the business, Rob helps property buyers understand the condition of accessible plumbing and gas installations before committing to a purchase.
Our inspections include written findings, recommended next steps and repair estimates where appropriate. With the commissioning client’s permission, we can also help sellers understand and address the findings.
The aim is to give everyone clear information and practical options.
Quality workmanship, with attention to detail
We take pride in work that looks good and functions properly.
From planning pipework to fitting the final tap, we consider the details that contribute to a practical result. We work with established brands and suppliers and can discuss suitable fittings and fixtures for your home.
